If you have been reading my posts about me upgrading to Win7 PRO64 from XP32  then you read about me having problems with

putting my software onto the new OS.  I thought it was the W7 and my old DVD, but it turned out to be my antivirus software.  When I

had this same version on XP it did not scan my dvd all the time because I told it not to.  But for some reason when I loaded it onto

Win7, that button won't stay activated.  Everytime I restart the system, the AV sets the button back to scan my DVD.  I did not realize

this and so when I tried to put software into Win7, the stupid AV program kept scanning the DVD and stopping it from doing that.

Once I figured out this mess, then I could install all my software (except Adobe Photoshop 5) without a problem.  I thought I was going

to have to get a new DVD drive that had firmware for Win7 64.  But that was not the case.  My old Plextor works great.

I did send a note off to Bitdefender about this problem.  So I think I am ready to go now.  I have TS3 and xfire back on and running.

TS3 sure is much nicer in W7 than it was in XP.  The mike is much cleaner sounding now.  Shoot, I sound better than Phoenix and

I kill campers.  I should be a radio DJ.

What AV do you use? It might be as simple as altering the startup item's command line to load your personal config or manually turn off DVD scanning.. Well I say simple, simple would be it remembering your choice in the first place, but what I mean is there may be a way around it :) Often you can find the command parameters available to most programs online.. I can try look for you if I know what AV you use :)
