Ow_my_eye Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Hey, just curious if this has happened to anyone. This only began happening a few days ago to me. Normally, loading up cod4 was very fast, and loading into a new map was also quick and smooth. Now, the graphic hands on my desktop for over a minute before loading into the screen where I can choose servers. Further, i have a problem sometimes when the map changes... the game may freeze and not load the map. It hung for over two minutes yesterday and I had to do a hard shutdown because ctrl-alt-del did nothing. Gonna try a defrag but i figure I may need to reinstall. anyone else had this problem? Quote
Ow_my_eye Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Hmm. and suddenly, the problem seems to have fixed itself. Walking away.... Quote
soulJAHmon Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 lol, wish my cod/pc issues would go with yours to the edge of a very tall cliff, and throw themselves off! Quote
UAdave Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) odd that you mention, mine did the same thing Saturday post Windows updates. My Interactive Services Detection kept throwing errors about the print spooler service in conjunction with COD sucking so I just stopped the service since I don't need it. Problem resolved.Edit: Turned it back on and it works Edited October 1, 2013 by UAdave Quote
Ow_my_eye Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 Hmm... thanks. I may try that because it's happening again. Seems that it happens the first time I launch cod4 after I start up my system (doesn't matter how long my system has been going though). After that, it loads up quite quickly. And I do think it was after an update, now that you mention it. Quote
Rem Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The other thing to do is open up your system processes and see what the load on the computer processor is. If your graphics are built in, you may be overloading your processor, especially if other things are still running in the background. A lot of programs stay resident even though you have "exited" them. Quote
Ol Smoke Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I get tired of the problems after an update. It's like this. You do an update. Then MS finds out it had a bug. They issue another update to fix the update. World Class coding there. I got an upgrade to my AV program (Bitdefender) it killed my PC. Luckily a friend of mine fixed it. Just because you can make software do something...doesn't mean you have to release it. It's like radios in cars. On/off - volume - tone - selector knobs. Works. But 10 little buttons or a computer interface while driving...not a good idea. 1 Quote
Jacker Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) i'm experiencing stuff like that as well since about last week... didnt think of the Ms updates... i'll check that! in can take some longer loading times... but whenever i tab out of the game to check email or other things while the game is loading (i know there's not a lot of time, but it's enough ) the game freezes as soon as i come back... never happened before! but what is even worse: my ping goes up from time to time (and by up i mean from a stable ~105 to 999) which causes some not that nice too see slideshows with 0.5 fps... horrible... i checked almost everything - ms updates downloading? no! - security essentials downloading new stuff? - no! - computer doing some clean or something? - no! - me downloading pawn in background? - no! - anyone else in the house doing anything like the said above? -no! i'm freaking home alone! - anyone else outside using my wifi? - the hell no! (since it's called "use it, i got a shotgun!") - my tv-recorder/reciever/engineering marvel of tv-box doing software updates or something? - no! - my connection okay (checked it a couple of times with a couple of different tests) - yes! even if it would break down to a third - i shouldn't even notice! i have no clue whats going on in there - but i'm sure i didn't install anything new (except the version changer i found somewhere in this forum - but i can't imagine that to cause these heavy issues) and i'm sure that it's not caused by my connection... if someone solves (or already solved) any of these problems, let me know!
