How to see HDD in Windows Explorer first...

This is an unknown line you can put into the startup line of Windows Explorer so when you click on WE it shows you the contents of

your harddrive C:\  instead of Documents.

Right click on the Windows Explorer icon and and click Properties.  There you will see the Target Line.

Here is what you need to put in that line.  Just copy and paste it and delete the previous start up line.

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, /n, c:\

Now when you click on the Icon it will display your C:\  root programs.

If your main drive is any other letter than C:\  just change the C to whatever your system shows as the root drive.

You can make several of these for quick accessing certain programs  such as like this one to get quickly to your COD4 demos.

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, /n, C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos

Then just rename the Icon to COD4 Demo.  You could change the Icon image to reflect that change also.

I'm sorry that you are still using Windows XP.

Just a heads up, Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP on April 8th, 2014.

In Windows 7, you can pin it to the taskbar. Right click on Explorer and you get most used and pinned folders (left clicking and moving into the desktop also accomplishes this). It's like having multiple shortcuts in 1 spot.

edit: same for IE, Word, Excel, Notepad, etc.
