Computerworld reports that research firm IDC will "likely" drop its estimates on touch PC shipments from 17% to 18% of all laptops shipped in 2013 to between 10% and 15% of all laptops. Rival Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I never really understood why anyone would need a touchscreen for their laptop. I don't really like Windows 8 either... If history repeats itself, every other Windows is good. XP was good, Vista was bad, 7 was good, 8 was bad. So hopefully the next one will be good. I bought a new PC in May, decided to go with Windows 7 instead of 8. There was no doubt about that. Altough I have a Keyboard-case for my iPad. Mainly because I write schoolstuff on my iPad, the keyboard makes it much easier. Quote
Death_Reincarnated Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Win8+PC=Failsoft. Microsoft tried to merge PC power with hand-held touch functionality. Touch screen technology IMO is the future but not how it was designed by Microsoft. Even the Win 8.1 update has not sufficed the general user. The so called 'Start' button is not even a proper Win7 Start button. Moving away from the mouse+keyboard will be difficult for many. It is possible but the touch technology needs to be more responsive and offer simplicity over mouse+keyboard. Imagine playing games with touch sensory lol... Quote
