reinstalling cod4

Heya Im not sure if this is the place for this notice, but I tried to get on the mod server it said I needed patch 1.7 version so I updated it.

after that I could not even load a game kept getting an error that shut the whole thing down and did not display any other infromation other than

we had an error.

So I copied my cd key from reg as I had lost the box and preceeded to re-install cod4... restore system did not fix the prob.

and when installing cod4 it said the key was incorrect and I copied and checked it 3 times so unitl i get a new version I will not be

on for a couple days.

 

Will this affect my GUID? I saved all my profiles and config and player info ahead of time.

Yes it will affected your guid because the guid comes from the product you buy. Did you try removing the 1.7 patch? Sometimes that will fix the problem.

try re-installing from your disk and whatever version it has and then getting the version changer http://fearless-assassins.com/files/file/465-cod4-patch-selector-software/ then just choose what patch you want to play. It works well, i use it to play all the time.

Thanks for your assistance in this matter but I will have to wait on the new disk i'm afraid already removed to re-install and the patch removal did not

work for me tried it alread before un-install.

 

Where should I post my new GUID when I do the reinstall so that I can still be F|A member?

update it in your profile. Go to your profile, click edit member, scroll down and replace the old guid with the new one.

I purchased a new cod4 disk and now when I go on and refresh server list I cannot find F|A abnerdog server....?

 

What is wrong now? lol

You probably aren't in 1.6. Go into the console and see what it says.

Ok, I have updated patch and now it kicks me off when I log on... sorry to be a bother.

 

I seem to have to start all over skill wise I can handle that but should I not use my F|A in my name? maybe my guid is not

updated in the system...?

are you at the 1.6 patch now? I didn't think they sold new discs below 1.7 unless I'm wrong/its used.

Ok, I'm and playin have to start from scratch with skills but that's no biggie.

Do not have the ability to have F|A tags in my name and no admins anymore so's

when ever someone can fix that no hurry.
