Chameleon Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 My HDD is a mess so many progs/games/apps and so on, everything is just everywhere and I am sure so many things I do not even need.. Is there a prog that makes finding this stuff and getting rid of it easier than just searching, I mean more than just a defrag, like hunting down unused progs and useless stuff that is just taking up space? I need to organize and optimize.. Any suggestions? Quote
Chameleon Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 CCleaner is pretty good Is it idiot friendly? Cause I am a class A moron hehehe Quote
UAdave Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Hehe yeah it's not too bad. I'd say easier than the built In Windows utilities. 1 Quote
Jefke Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) Just don't check everything in ccleaner Let the things which are unchecked by default unchecked... My father managed to mess up his installation multiple times by checking everything (I just reformat when I want a clean install XD) Edited March 30, 2013 by DrJoske 1 Quote
UAdave Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Yeah the clean option can be confusing if you don't know what each does. The option to uninstall programs and mod the startup programs works well though. 1 Quote
Ol Smoke Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Having used them in the shop to clean registry problems, I used different ones over the years. The one I have the most faith in is: Spotmau Power Suite 2012 It will defrag the drive, defrag the registry, get rid of anything that isn't correct in the registry and it will tune up the start up system. All of this, and it won't get rid of certain files that you need for certain programs. Tune-up 360 did that to me once, and I had a mess on my hands getting that PC back to running without losing stuff. http://www.spotmau.com/products/package/powersuite.html 1 Quote
