COD 4 crash

   Well my PC did some auto updates early this morning and now every time I play (or try to) I crash right back out to desktop. Once it gave me some sort of error thing, but I didn't think to save it or take a pic since I was in the throes of anger and disgust, but if it does pop up again I will get a pic. Anyway has anyone else had this issue and if so how was it fixed?  Thanks

 

 

 

It happens within a few minutes of joining and it seems like if I spec I don't crash as soon as if I were playing..

maybe it will sound strange but the most common help is to plugin microphone to your computer.

I will give it a try, I am getting desperate.. I made it through one map this time and it did it again..

first plugin, then start cod4. please post a screenshot of the error message if your problem still exists.

  This isn't my screen shot, but I found this (and it was similar to my error) while searching for an answer and you were correct mAdArA* this seems to have fixed the problem.. Thanks a million!

little tip for free, search in our forum, before you post you problem. we have many topics for fixing most problems in  ET and CoD4. this help you faster with you problem, than waiting for an answer

Oddly enough, plugging in a usb headset fixed the issue and apparently it is a very common issue hehe, but thanks for asking

Yeah, COD4 doesn't sound card well.
