I was wondering if you guys are planning on doing the update on christmas ! There is going to be fireworks and stuff and i really hope you guys do

it's another one of those things where we're at the mercy of the craftbukkit guys and the plug-in devs, as soon as there is a stable enough craftbukkit version for 1.4.6/1.5 I'll run some tests and get the servers updated as soon as possible

This one is the only sure-fire way that I know will work, there are some instructions and a .jar file that will roll your game back to 1.4.2 which is what the survival server is currently running.
