Well, for what will your laptop be used and what's the budget

also check the other laptop topic: http://fearless-assassins.com/topic/38794-can-someone-refer-a-good-gaming-laptop/ (most gaming laptops, but you can get a basic idea :P)

The only laptops which will last 8h that I can think of are ultrabooks (@everybody : prove me wrong, really curious about laptops lasting 8 hours)

Lenovo Thinkpad T430, review: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=6504&p=3

Dell E6430, review: http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/dell-latitude-e6430.aspx, http://www.techreviewsource.com/Notebook-Computers/dell-latitude-e6430#.UHLOJHrCS5g

Most business line laptops get a lot longer than one might expect. My not to shabby Dell gets over 6.5 hours while full-power abusing it (screen at 50% (brighter than some 100% crappy screens), wireless on, compiling/writing/etc and stuff, not gaming though obviously), but that's with 15", i7, etc. Imagine some laptop with a nice 14" screen, replace the HDD by SSD and it's easy to get <10W/hr. Then push a 90+Whr battery in it and you're done. Basically, the T430 and E6430 do that.

More importantly, although ultrabooks are commonly advertised with >8hr battery time, many of them never make that in any review. 5hr while using it is fairly average. 6hr is quite impossible without screwing down the brightness.

Ty for the info (really, don't know much about laptops, because don't really need to ^^)

My laptop, well maybe it last 4h ^^ (it's almost always plugged in anyway so no real problem).

Although I'm planning to get a business line laptop next time. This one doesn't really handle the abuse of going with me to school all that well (got great warranty for 3 years so no real problem with it)
