Chuckun Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Some friends of mine are about to tour Europe and they bought a 3G USB modem from abroadband.com (A1 Telecoms, Austria) - but that is a total scam - you can connect but at 200 *BYTES* per second - thats their 3G+ network speed. So you cannot even load the activation page. We've tried calling them on their support line, but you get some German message after pressing several numeric options, which hangs up on you. (We tried every combination of numbers just to get through to SOMEONE - all do the same thing). They have also ignored extensive emails. They leave in a matter of days and will be in serious problems if they don't have roaming internet usage for their netbook.. Does anyone have any other companies they can recommend for this? They need to be able to travel between france, spain and portugal primarily, freely able to roam within those countries, on 3G. They don't want a contract, preferably just a pre-pay SIM (with a USB dongle). Please help if you know of any! Quote
Revenant Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Don't know if this would work for them, but it seemed interesting -- http://www2.mobilitypass.com/plug-connect-securexpress-sim-card-with-unlocked-usb-modem-dongl Also, there's this site for more info - http://mobileoffice.about.com/od/wifimobileconnectivity/tp/international-internet-access--rentals.htm Quote
