My computer has a lot of svchost.exe processes it has 14 all from different usernames like system, local. Please tell me what is going on there are so many

Anyways, if you ever want to know what a process is and if it is dangerous, just search it in google. These were the first two links I found when I typed in: "what is svchost.exe"

you can right mouse click on it, and "go to services" there you can see if it holds legit services or something bizarre. But yeah there are many of them. running basicly whole windows, as I´ve understood.

alot of them are for windows services that you really need, I wouldn't disable or terminate any of them. Because it might stop your internet or a application or even shut down your system.

 

Svchost controls :

 

windows security center

 

WLAN Autoconfig

 

Portable Device enumberator service

 

Windows Driver foundation

 

Windows management\

 

Windows update

 

themes

 

shell hardware dectection

 

diagnostic service host

 

you can go to Control panel - Administrative tools- services and see what each of them do and anything else thats running on your computer
