NoQuarter XPS Download Loop ---------.pk3 35KB File and other issue

I have a problem.

 

When i connect to Noquarter XPS. It hangs in a download loop.

 

"The same File with wrong Cheksum exist"

Now i deleted all the FIA Files pk3s in Etmain. And Check again. Same loop.

 

First the file is downloaded correctly, then the next second he wants to load it again, and spits out the error, and hangs in a loop

 

 

Second Problem

 

 

Im using ET for mac.

 

When i connect to a Jaymod Server after loading Dif Files, Et crashed. and closed.

 

All ET Folder in Programms and the Folder in User/Library/ Application Support all shared with write Rights.

 

What can i do?

 

third problem. i played the First Map over. If the next map loads. it has a GFX issue.

 

I cant see any Weapons in the map. On the Ground lies any colorful triangle?

 

So you cant play of course.

 

Restart Et solve the problem for 1 Map. Next map issue again?

Check also the NQ\noquarter folders for .pk3.tmp files and delete them.

What comes to Mac have no clue, sry.

Same here, but it kinda sounds like file corruption, data files and/or programs.

 

Can you run a utility to check the hard drive health? File structures and HD surfaces?

Some other with the same problem, after Upgrade to OSX Mountain Lion 10.8

I deletet all Wolfenstein Folder, make a new Install on a fresh partition. After Install and connect to different server. Same Download Loop.

That would be the one you need for your Jaymod folder. Don't expect the problem to be gone by manually copying it to the folder thought.

After clear both, and reconnect again to NoQuarter XPS, the Server created the 2 Files again in etmain and hangs in a loop.

Reinstall a fresh Et dont fix the Problems.

Well try to delete all 3 of them?

And reinstalling ET still leaves old reusable files in ET folder? That means those pk3 files also.

Uninstall+manual deletion would be the right way. Also do you have in ET options all download options enabled?

It's a Mountain Lion problem.

I googled "The same file with wrong cheCksum exists" and found it is fairly common, with differing opionions on fixing it, including

 

cl_allowdownload 1, cl_allowdownload 0,

"file corrupted during download", "source file on server corrupted after MD5 measured","different file and game versions (i.e. downloading a new file version to an old game version installation)", etc...

 

 

before I ran across an SB Forge page https://sbforge.org/...G/Replace tests that contained, in part:

 

 

Describes the tests needed to validate the Replace functionality.

Basic replace

1. Attempt to replace a file. The file should exist in the collection, providing the correct checksum for the new file.

   2. The new file should now be the one in the collection. Use the getChecksum client to verify this.
      

Bad old file checksum

1. Attempt to replace a file, providing the wrong checksum for the old file.
   

   Bad new file checksum

   1. Attempt to replace a file, providing a bad checksum for the new file.
      

      which seems to mean that programs using this open-source tool-set will perhaps tell you about the bad checksum, but maybe not save copies of the old and new versions, which I would prefer if I were the User. You might be able to remove whichever file the Error Statement refers to and try the download again. But, some users with similar problems in ET tried this and similar to no avail. So, it might be a file that is not actually in the ET folders.

       

      You could also try the FA PK3 cleaner first.

The files are directly from the server and the checksum matches. This is an OS X problem, our pk3 cleaner is Windows only.

The problem is that the filenames of some downloads are too long, which causes that error. The only server you can play on at the moment is our second NoQuarter server, which doesn't contain any of these files: http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=serverinfo&idx=713493

Yes i know . this is the only playable NQ Server at Time for me.

 

Would you like fix the to long Server Files with your admins?

 

 

Next issue: ET crashed when connect to Jaymod Server.

 

Example i connect to your Recruting Xp Save. It wants to load a 7.17MB FIA File, but after 5,4Mb crashed and closed ET.

 

here is the Pix from Jaymod Folder. It has a unfinished .tmp . i deleted the File a connect again. Same crash with the same .tmp

Or it is also a long File name problem?

EDIT: The Finder in OSX can handle max 31 Characters per File.

 

The Fearless Files has 54! Please shorten this length stuff.

for display overlengt Files in OSX Finder.

 

i set the Command to 80 Charakters. Now it displays all Overlength Files in correct length.

 

But this solve not the Download problem.

 

Its a other problem.
