What to do when you spot a hacker or cheater.

I have seen a few cheaters only on the 1.7 severs I don't know what to do but becuase I can not ban or anything really I know that you must record a demo and then post it on the fourms but for those who can't we try to inform someone who can.If some one could list of what to do.I have been yelled at for calling out hackers in the comments befor and quite rudely if I might add DON'T YELL AT US IF WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. All I wanted was to stop the hackers in anyway posible if that means that I try to tell them to stop becuase I can not find anyone to kick or ban them. So here is my proposal that we make a list of what to do when we spot a hacker or cheater all protocals includeing what to do if no one is on.

If you see a cheater and you don't have high enough admin to ban him, then look on xfire and ask any COD member or leader with high enough admin to come to the server and ban the guy for you.
Tip: Add all cod members and leaders on xfire. Should always be someone online to ban.

Always take a demo if you see a cheater, even if there is no higher admin online.
If you took a demo and you really can't find a member to ban the guy for you, you can kick him.. I think you do have that command right? 12 admin. If not warn him 3 times and he gets kicked too I believe.
Once you've taken the demo you can report him in the cod4 suspected cheaters section. So people can look out for him.
Also, always get the players GUID and write that in your topic about the cheater too. (can't get GUID while pb is off though.)

If you did get a higher member to ban the guy there's no need to post topic in suspected cheaters section. The member will probably post a ban report anyways :]

Never yell in chat that the guy has to stop using his wallhack or aimbot. It might make the guy leave which we don't want before trying all the above options

Spec them. Then click on the key with ~ and `. This will bring up the terminal, type in /record [name of demo] and press enter. This will start the demo.

 

Once done, type in /stoprecord to stop the demo.

 

You can then report them on the suspected cheaters.

 

I think it would be best, if you think there is a hacker. Spec and make a demo of them. While it is recording, go on xfire and find another admin to come on and ban them. If they are hacking.

Add me, Alexandra, Funkbut, Zairan, Lady Raevyn, Uncasid, Cannibal, IKILLCAMPERS. These are just some of the people who are usually on xfire and can ban

Like Alex said, don't yell at him in game. Let another admin come on to spec/ban him.

^ that's the command to get the GUID

 

 

You can't get the GUID on some 1.7 servers right now because pb is off

You can only get their guid if pb is up. /pb_plist (in the terminal, find the guy and copy his guid on paper)

maybe i was a bit rude, but my statement was not only for you. there were several ppl who complained about him on mainchat. i always have to tell them that they should add me on xfire and dont call his name in main chat.

Try /pb_plist in console. if you see no names and GUID then that means pb is off. You'll see names and GUIDs when PB is on. Type it like 2 times for if you might have misstyped it though.

 

ATM PB is off on No Marty and Beginners 1.7

my comment wasn't just directed at you I have been cursed at by other members for the same sorta thing before and there is no justifaction for being rude to players even though we may think we have a good reason I know I have done the same once not proud of it but I was pretty mad at him and now he is on my blacklist but I did not curse at him in game. We are always being watched and some of the things that we say other players will repeat and use the fact that an admin said it so why can't I. just and observation. Edited June 13, 2012 by FA ghost
