ajnl Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I looked this up on google, but got nothing. Is it possible to enter and change bios settings from the desktop instead of restarting your computer? It gets annoying restarting every time. Quote
Antichrist Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Not that I know of, I don't think it's possible, since when in windows, those settings rely on what's in BIOS, and even if you could change BIOS from windows, it would probably need a restart for the changes to take effect. Quote
TulsaGeoff Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Which settings are you trying to change? Overclocking and voltages? With my EVGA motherboard I can use EVGA Eleet to change these inside of windows. http://www.evga.com/eleet/ I'm pretty sure Asus and MSI have something as well as probably all the other big enthusiast motherboard producers. Just some settings to do with RAM. Yeah, I have a gigabyte motherboard and they have a utility for CPU and GPU overclocking, but I am not able to change any of the RAM settings from there. I was afraid of that lol. Thanks for the quick answer. Quote
rolf Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 It should be possible. Voltages, multiplier, FSB etc can be done, depending on your motherboard and if the manufacturer developed an application for it. However, obviously, not everything, like changing hyperthreading. I guess you want to change the cas latency? It should be technically possible I guess, but I do not know for sure if it's crash save, that's probably why they didn't implement it. Quote
