anyone know if there is a league game wolfeinstein to play against other clans? :hmm:hmm

or any tournament

Posted

yes there's a few..

the first few that come to mind are Evil Territory League (ETL) or Stronger Than All ( STA league ) -- but i know there are others as well.

My clan used to be involved in these and others, but sadly we found that there was a lot of hacking going on in these, especially any league where there is a $$$ prize. it sucks but the hacking community stays a little bit ahead of punkbuster all the time, and apart from a few idiots on pub servers making nuisances of themselves ( you know not all of the so-called pro players you meet are legit.. if they are so good what are they doing on a jaymod server on 2.55? or trying to join brand new clans where no one else is anywhere near their so-called "skill" level? )

i served as ref for a couple leagues and ETL does a really good job of keeping the scum out of their tourneys, but you can't ever be really sure. leagues are where hax go to get their bragging rights or whatever it is that gets them off.

not to say that that's all leagues are made up of, or that you can't go into them without running into hackers, but be aware that leagues are a really likely place to find people with the latest netcoders hacks. personally i got disgusted with it and stick to public play or inter-clan matches.

As Ion said there are a few good leagues out there. STA is one of the oldest American leagues still but only runs comp for 6-6 teams. Unfortunately ETL (Evil Territory League) no longer exists but has instead merged with another even larger league to form a new league, XPL (Extreme Players League). I was formerly an Administrator and the Head Referee in ETL and will soon be an Administrator for XPL. These leagues are played on ETPro and use the latest version of pro (3.2.6) on 2.60b. Game play and server settings a very different from the type play you experience on everyday servers here on 2.55. If you are just looking to have some competitive matches between 2 clans, that should not be too difficult to do. My clan averages 1-2 scrims a day, which on 6b is an easy thing to do. Our method generally consists of all of us being on Ventrilo while 1-2 guys go from server to server and simply ask "anyone want a 3-3?" and if we have enough we'll ask for a 6-6. We also do this through xfire via our many contacts we have made. Generally speaking, it usually only takes us about 30 minutes to get a scrim and start playing.

So if you have a team and would just like to get some practice in with team work or get a feel for how a match is played under league settings, my team will always accept a challenge. I run a certified league server running ETPro 3.2.6 on 2.60b that is open for public use with no password and anyone is welcome to come and play there. Although I do have to warn you, if you play alot of Jaymod or ETPub you will find that ETPro is much different and alot more challenging. But if you are seeking to improve your game play and your shooting, this would be the best way to do so.

I'm not sure if posting my server information here would be appropriate as I am not an =F|A= member. I will, however, post my xfire information so you can contact me anytime if you would like to set up a good friendly match. I have some new members now that need to gain experience in scrims and I try to get them some game time as often as possible.

If you are serious about league play or just would like to know more about it, feel free to contact me. I will be getting involved in the XPL very soon as it is a brand new league and once we get it going I may not have much free time afterward as I also have a clan to run at the same time. But I welcome any questions you may have concerning league play or simply setting up a scrim.

Thanks daredevil. For anyone who is interested in scrims or playing on league settings you are more than welcome to come to my server or contact me through xfire for a scrim. These are my servers information:

~TwC/Pro BOX - ip: 74.86.45.40:27960 (ETPro 2.60b)

~TwC/Clan Server - ip: 75.126.134.199:27960 (ETPub 2.60b)

There is generally someone on the server or setting up scrims around 7:00 pm est to about 11:00 pm est, although we operate at different hours also, these are usually the most common times to find us at the moment. The closer we get to the start of this seasons leagues kick off the more active we will become in scrims.

Thanks again daredevil for allowing me to post this information here.

Yes we are planning/making scrim team. You need to be fairly good enough to play in scrim team and if our scrim team desires to enter leagues/tournament they are free to do so. But first we need to make scrim team :P

YESSS !! Finally a scrim team :D needs to happen asap lol

Look at the date. ---->2009.

Necrophilia is bad.

Official stance is that we have no scrim team and there are no plans for one either. We are not that type of clan. If you want to scrim you must take tags off while doing so.
