What's up with the killbox and hardcore server?

 

For days I could play all the time without lagging, because my ping was around 150-160...Only lagged on one map: Backlot map

 

Now since last night I play for like 20 minutes and my ping goes to 200 and stays there. Only if I quit the game and connect back into the server my ping is back to 150-160 for like 20 minutes and then it just goes back to 200 :/

 

Anyone knows how I can fix this? Because it's really annoying me, I get pissed off very easily if I lag while I'm trying to play.

 

If it won't get fixed I will cry, because it's so much fun playing CoD during the night with others like Speedy around 4am my time.

Yay I think I've fixed it :]

 

Tip: Don't ever download Vindictus or any other nexon game lol, it apparently makes you lag :/

 

I deleted it, just played 4 maps without lagging :] Hope it stays like this

Blah I'm still lagging :/

I never lagged on the server until a few days ago..hope some1 knows how to fix this for me, cus alex=sad that she can't play normal anymore

Here are a few things I do when the game seems to perform poorly.

-check background tasks for any using a high amount of cpu, I disable my backup sw since it can take a high amount.

-manually update punkbuster, not sure why this helps but it has in the past. Might not help if your game is new.

-restart your modem/router.

-sometimes if a person joins the server with a high ping or varies wildly it can cause mine to lag.

-restart computer.

-run CCleaner

Not sure I'd suspect the server - 0% packet loss but I'll let the experts chime in there. Good luck. :)

How do I know which one uses a high amout of cpu? :blush:

EDIT: kami told me how to check this... it's all running around 00-01-02 lol.. so I guess that's not high

My game is kinda new

I'm currently uninstalling all my steam games, also gonna uninstall steam... then install steam and cod4 back lol..maybe there's something wrong with cod

 

I can play ET without my ping going up lol

Again, the Speedtest tells you the quality of the connection to a server in Rotterdam. Killbox and Hardcore are located in Chicago.

 

Please include a MTR report with the server's IP.

I was thinking this, your parents may have downgraded your internet connection. The reason being when you hit a certain amount of data some data companies start throttling data to reduce the amount you get since you used up your data quota for the month. Its just one more thing to consider when this happens...

Just trying to offer another angle.

I'm sure it's not that :/ ... Else I'd probably be lagging all the time and not only on COD...my ping on ET stayed the same

Well, its a thought. Some companies change their plans for their customers and given you prob dont pay the bills, why would you know about it if that were the case.

It was just another possible scenario. I have personally experienced this when renting a place with a friend who took care of the bills since it was his house. I went from being able to watch hulu episodes to not being able to.
