iSnipeCattle Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Same problem here. Sites with lots of picture's are causing even more trouble loading. Checked everything and no it's nothing I've done. I have a degree in computer sciences and know what I'm doing. Ever since 7.0.1 Firefox has failed me. 8.0 is even worse. Using IE now which I hate but FF is so bugged it's almost unusable for me. Using 64-Bit Win 7. (since someone will ask, lol) Also having problems when I close it the process stays running meaning I have to manually close the process to re-open. Many bugs are reported on FF forums. Yay, it's not just me. I'm not computer illiterate either. Quote
Jefke Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I'm using firefox 7.0.1 no problems (and I'm also using adblock but, it was clear that that wasn't the problem) I'm trying to update to firefox 8 to if it still works then. EDIT: still works in firefox 8 let's try the english version... (works fine too, makes sens but could try it) if I disable the images I still get a red part so even with disabling the images I don't manages to recreate that problem Do you only have it on fa site or also on others? EDIT2: I saw that your menu bar was black so I tried other windows themes and I managed to let the images disappear when I selected HighContrast not sure if your windows theme is high contrast but Can you try to change you windows theme back to the default one: windows 7 basic and see if that fixes your problem Quote

Jefke Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Reproduced! Windows 7 64bit using the Windows High Contrast Black scheme, in FireFox only. yep same thing as I had, now I'm pretty sure that's the problem^^ Quote
Novice Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 After a little more research and now that the issue is reproduced, this has been an on-going problem for years! search Google for "Windows High Contrast Firefox Images" and you will get many results about this same issue, and not just in Firefox, it seems most references to colors and images via a CSS files are ignored. I found no fix or solution. But I did discover a cool trick/hotkey to switch between High Contrast and Aero Shift + Alt + PrtScr (Print Screen) toggles between Aero and High contrasts. 1 Quote
YMCMB Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I don't like Aero and keep it on high contrast and IE seems to work. I'd rather go back to IE then use Aero but I'm sure a fix might be added come next update. Quote
