Not so strange. We used our trifolds with a little nomex wrap on the handle to double as a frying pan in Yugoslavia. A little gasoline burned completely off would make it nice and sterile for cooking.

(unless we all come down with some wierd cancer). The trick is to cook off all the bakelite coating first.
