So I downloaded Brink, and when I try to play it from steam I get this---

********************
FATAL ERROR: The current video card / driver combination does not support OpenGL 3.1 or newer.

The current video card / driver combination does not support OpenGL 3.1 or newer.
Shutting down OpenGL subsystem
...releasing DC
...resetting display
...shutting down QGL
...unloading OpenGL DLL
...unloading Windows Terminal Server API DLL

I assumed it was my video drivers out of date but I thought I just updated and it said no updates found.

I don't know what the issue is other than the driver, ATI claims that card supports OpenGL 3.2

ATI says to use the video driver from the laptop manufacturer not ATI's

Meaning I should back up the driver to an older version? I remember last year I had to back up to my old driver due to a faulty release with something but I shouldnt need to default back to that should I? Using the current updated driver would be the best yes?

I would go to the laptop manufacture's website and get the driver for your videocard that they have listed for download.

Yeah I have done that, still doesnt work. Good thing I didnt buy this game because it would have been a waste.

The update from steam, and the update at the manufacturers website are the same driver.

Link possibly? I dont know what you mean by that.

Sorry i missed it, OMEGA drivers are some alternative driver for video cards, most of them modified to get more performance and stuff .. give them a try :)

Yeah, it happens a lot with laptops. For my previous Acer I had to go to Acer's website to download the drivers,

but they never got updated, so I simply downloaded them from nvidia after a while.

If you use 'automatically search for my graphics drivers', the nvidia website will tell you to go to the manufacturer's site.

So you search for them manually and then you can download. I believe ATI also has auto or manual on their site if I recall that right?
