AntiThought Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I was scanning news stories and one of my stops was MSNBC where I found this bit of news gold: A spam message wishing a Russian woman happy new year may very well have killed her, and saved hundreds of intended targets, according to an account by The Telegraph's Moscow correspondent, Andrew Osborn. The woman, dubbed "The Black Widow," who authorities suspect was part of the same militant group that killed 35 people at Moscow's Domodedovo airport on Monday, was at a house preparing for the attack, which would have occurred on New Year's Eve at Red Square. Instead, the woman's mobile phone, which served as the device's detonator, was activated hours early by a spam message wishing her a happy new year. She was killed, while a man and woman also in the house and suspected of being accomplices, escaped. Russian security forces told The Telegraph that phones are usually kept off until the last minute for detonation, but in this case, "the terrorists were careless." Quote
speedfact Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 lmao you saw it too. Gotta love spam texts. Quote
GoodKarme Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 terrorist or government agents either way its a Fail) Quote
PHANTASM Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I hate terrorists. These terrorists instantly de-legitimize whatever cause they support the moment they start bombing innocent people just to get attention. Yes I know there are plenty of white terrorists (Timothy McVeigh, IRA, etc) and I hate them too. I remember watching the Oklahoma City bombing on TV in 1995. I drove by there on my way to Arizona in 1997. I read all the letters from the families taped to the walls and the teddy bears left by the bombed building by the parents who had lost children. I couldn't help but cry seeing how much sorrow these people experienced for no reason. I support anyone who kills terrorists. Quote
AntiThought Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 I can definitely agree with that Phantasm. How anyone could believe killing someone not even involved in what they are fighting against will further their cause is beyond me. Quote
PHANTASM Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I can definitely agree with that Phantasm. How anyone could believe killing someone not even involved in what they are fighting against will further their cause is beyond me. It makes me oppose their cause actually. If the Chechen Black Widows oppose the Russian government by bombing innocent Russians, or anybody who happens to be walking through a Russian airport or subway station, then I can support the FSB in their mission to crush them. I am perfectly aware that the Russian government is evil and corrupt (like most governments) but compared to terrorists they are the good guys. Quote
