sry if not the right place but been thinking to update old pc nothing mutch want to keep my gtx 1660 and my 16g ram the processor r the problem im my none experiênce 🫣 hear great about rysan 5 looks for new opinions for those understand more in this field and still using win 10

im a amd fan i will always say amd but if ur board supports intel it wont support amd . 

 

they use diff sockets. and pin layout so if u want amd u need new board and visa versa. asrock mother boards are good . if u go to new tho ur 1660 will bottle kneck ur set up uless all u play is et then wont matter.. the ram is interchangeable between chips .intel or amd but depending on the  ram it self .. for best performance ull most likey need to enable ,expo  or xmp in bios .  whats the specs on the ram. 

 

amd is expo intel is xmp.

 

if ur ram is ddr3 ddr4 ddr5 ddr2 they dont plug in same slots in diff spot  ull also need to note that if u upgrade  is ur older ram compatible with newer mobo and cpu.

easiest way to upgrade an i5 9400f would be to swap out the CPU for a i7 (9700k) or even a i9 (9900k) both those cpu would be a decent upgrade to the existing pc, no need to swap out anything else unless you also wanted to upgrade the GPU.

i talk to ia and i can change to amd the processor and motherboard to amd with ddr5 among a few so my run better ofc i have to talk to my tec that build my pc  if is possibel of but ths

I think this really comes down to how much you want to spend in upgrades.  Like TMC said, the 9900K can be swapped in without changing anything else for about $250 or the 7700K for about $150.  A switch to a newer generation of intel CPU would require a new motherboard as well (intel doesnt play nice with chipsets in this regard 😆).  A switch to AMD could be done on the budget side of things with an AM4 socket chip and motherboard.  I assume youre using DDR4 ram that could also be used in the AMD system.  Something like a 5800X3D (8core $350), 5800X (8core $250), or 5600X (6core $150) could be paired with a B550 motherboard (~$100).  Or you could go wild and update to the latest generation Intel or AMD, but that would require purchasing RAM and likely a cooling system as well.  I personally like the upgradability of the AM5 socket, but I built my PC before the RAM and SSD prices went through the roof so that may have changed my decision making when I upgraded.  I'm no Intel expert, so maybe someone a bit more familiar with that side of things can chime in.

 

EDIT:  Another thing to consider is what games you are looking to play after the upgrade.  If you are looking to play newer AAA games, even upgrading to the latest and greatest AMD or Intel CPU may not be enough if your GPU is a few generations old.

basicly is to play et and thinking a bit into the modern games ofc by that time only needcto change the grafics i got 3 setups thats goes well into my olp pc case the diferent into the lower to the best is around 200euros so with a bit effort maybe im going to the best i can put some the spec i gone replace and keep some the old

Both the 9800X and 7600X chips will be on the AM5 socket, which will require different motherboard, ram and cooling options than you currently have.  I do think the AM5 upgrade is worth it if its in your budget because AMD has committed to keeping AM5 through at least 2028 so it should be compatible with the next one or two generations of CPUs.  Either option should give you a substancial boost in processing power, especially the 9800X being 8 core.  Obviously we are shopping in different countries, but I've seen a few options for the 9800X that come with an AIO cooler.  Could be worth a look.

Esse i7 7700k é do best para ET. É um chip antigo mas que ainda mostra a ver a muito PC recente

eveyone should know by now i'm not a AMD  fan so anything  intel would work i would stay away from the 13 gen's i have a i9 12th 12900k  it works fine for what i do
