Sry, but I don't know any config tweaks that are mod specific (maybe one or 2 NQ specific ones), can you bring any examples please? All the tweaks I know, are client specific (ETL or 2.60b). As I went through your cfg you have A LOT of commands from etj and etpro, that don't actually exist in ETL client anymore. It looks like an old etpro config copy-pasted into Legacy.

And a lot of weird commands that I don't even knew existed at all, like cg_impactvibration, but some others as well.

Ofc, it all comes down to preference and how much textures are you willing to sacrifice, for better fps, but if you want fps boost without any loss in graphics then I would recommend:

cg_brassTime "2500"  to "0"

r_lodCurveError "60" to "0"

r_roundImagesDown "0" to "1"

s_mixahead "0.8" maybe try around 0.08

cg_descriptivetext "1" to "0"

r_textureMode "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR" to "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST"

These would be the most obvious fps tweaks I would do.

Also if you are willing to live with it then r_picmip 1 to 3 is also good fp save and r_ext_multisample could be 0 instead of 4 (or 16 if you want really HQ).

To many to list here I’d read over each mod having a unique cgame registers it’s own cvars

Yeah, I am aware that legacy has loads of mod specific cvar-s, custom Hud-s, etc, but these dont actually provide any fps boost or tweaks.

This is entirely incorrect. While the engine itself has the renderer pipe line ect cgame and qagame control what’s drawn which directly effect FPS and have cvars to allow for customization of such changes should the mod choose to do so.

What a mod cannot do is change base engine net code, render to newer OpenGL ect.

In simple terms a mod can’t build you a new house. But it can change everything in it how it looks how it feels how long it takes you to get to point a to point b)

Can you please provide some examples of ETL mod specific commands that provide somekind of fps boost?

ETL mod itself or ETlegacy client I think you may be confusing a client and a mod

If you mean the mod you can completely turn off weapon firing animations in ETL as a mod small fps boost that you cannot do in jaymod or silent. In silent you can change weapons to charms style weapons so you can see through them ect

I know very well that ETL has both mod and client and I know very well what the difference is between those two. Since you sayd that you have lots of ETL MOD specific tweaks "without nuking graphics" in your cfg, I am very curious what those tweaks are. Because like I sayd, most of the ETL mod specific "tweaks" are just for user customization and don't actually effect real game performance. For ETL client that is of course a different story.

Ok

cg_deferplayers "1"
cg_fastsolids "1"

Other mods like jaymod do not have these significantly less cpu usage when many entities on screen
cg_trailparticles "0"
cg_impactparticles "0"
cg_atmosphericEffects "0"
cg_visualEffects "0"

These are all ETL mod specific that do NOT work in jaymod silent ect see game owned cvars and how they work with engine

cl_interpolation "0"
cl_extrapolationMargin "1"

newer net smoothing logic that jaymod will overwrite

*edit forgot to add*

cg_weapAnims

Also to clarify the mod specific cvars while less effective than engine level cvars do boost fps so I use them. I do not use heavily reduced graphics as a potato can maintain 144 fps in this game :) This is not a MAX FPS OMG config

This all has to do with the render pipe and how its handed off test yourself preferably on a very old system where you can notice the difference
