Hi everyone,

I’ve recently joined your community and am looking for some advice on purchasing a new PC. I’m a returning Enemy Territory player and am excited to jump back into the game. It's been a while since I last played, but I’m eager to get back into it and join you on your server.

Could anyone let me know if the following PC specs will be suitable to run Enemy Territory before I make a purchase?

Looking forward to your feedback!

OS

- Windows 11 Home (I assume it is 64bit)

Graphics card
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050
- 6 GB GDDR6
RAM
- 16 GB DDR4 (3200 MHz)
- 32 GB maximum installable RAM
Processor
- AMD Ryzen 5 5500 Processor
- Hexa-core
- 3.6 GHz / 4.2 GHz
- 16 MB cache
Storage
1 TB SSD
Motherboard
Biostar A520MT

Cheers for any help,

Hus

Hi,

I think any PC will be suitable to play ET since this game is so old haha 😅. So no worries about that! As far I can see you can play all games coming out easily with these specs on 'High' graphics.

I think 16gb ram should be enough unless you are planning to use programs like Adobe or do video editing and rendering and stuff.

Once you have your pc I will recommend to use https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri, this is a site where that check yours stats and can give information about any game you want to play and if you specs are good enough or not.

If you are building your PC on your own I would also recommend to look up all your pieces in https://pcpartpicker.com/ so you are sure everything is compatible and your power supply is strong enough.

Note that you motherboard only have 1 HDMI and 1 DP port output if you are planning to have multiple monitors you have to check if both monitors are supporting this. If you only will use 1 monitor you are safe.

Thank you, that is really helpful. I was more concerned about the O/S being compatible with ET as I assume Windows 11 Home is 64-bit? But reading through other posts, this does not seem to be an issue. It's also good to know that it will run upcoming games as well, which is reassuring!

Thanks again! :)

You should have no problems playing ET on a 64-bit system. The specifications you've provided are more than sufficient for this game, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable gaming experience!

Im running win11 64bits and no issues here. Altho I have tweaked it quite much from the default one, but that's just me wanting to do so.

Don't buy it yet!
Try to get a motherboard with 4.0. From what I could find, that motherboard has all its PCI 3.0 ports.
The video card you wrote is 4.0. So this will happen to you:
"A PCIe 4.0 video card will work on a PCIe 3.0 motherboard, but it won't reach its maximum performance."
You should see if there are another motherboards with pci 4.0 for that Ryzen 5 5500 (they are older), or maybe you should buy a Ryzen 5 new generation (8600g, for example) with an A620 motherboard (with pci 4.0 ofc)

Thanks all; really appreciate the help and advice.

Going to do final spec tomorrow and order, what are your thoughts on a 24' monitor?

Cheers,
