DarthMojo Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Was wondering if folks have seen Tenet and if so what were your reactions, theories? I watched it last night for the first time and I was lost most of the film...lol It definitely is a Nolan film. Quote
Snuffs99 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) I watched it and thought it was very clever. Like you i was lost for the first half of the film but it started to make sense as it went along, i don't know if you ever watched Doctor who but it reminded me of the Doctor and River songs story so by the end of Tenet i was clued up enough to know that Neil was going backwards through life and time so he had known Protagonist for many years and saw him as a great friend while It was the other way around for Protagonist as he was only just getting to know, like and trust Neil. It was odd to watch and tbh i didn't think i would like it and only really watched it as the wife wanted to do so...that being said i wish i had watched it alone as i was fed up of having to tell her what was going on all the time, she understood once i told her but had she watched alone i think she would have turned it off after 30-40 min. 😄 Edited December 17, 2020 by Snuffs99 1 Quote

I think as long as you understand the basic concept, it's not hard to follow. Like all Nolan films, I thought the scale was impressive but the characters in this one are so flat. I think he's gotten too big and needs to tone it down. Inception did the concept of time better. 1 1 Quote
DarthMojo Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 Yes the scale was quite impressive, all practical effects, like a real plane crashing into a real building. I still find myself drawn to Inception as my favorite Nolan work, although I have yet to see Memento, which I hear is really good. I'll probably re-watch Tenet at some point in the coming weeks and try to reassess my assessment...lol Quote
