I think he meant ET itself is the best program to view demos in. There's only one other that you can use (Seismovision, see here: http://www.seismovision.net/ ) but as ET is the native program to handle demos it should be the first choice.

First put the demo in folder of the mod the demo was recorded in (let's say it's Jaymod so you have to put it in etmain/Jaymod/demos folder). Then start the game, click mod->Jaymod->load mod and then click on Replays in main menu, select demo and then play.

Or...

1.You need know from which mod the demo is.

2.In case the demo come from Etpub you copy the demo and go to Wolfenstein:Et/Etpub/Demos/ and paste it here. If the folder isn't there, create one.

If you tried play any demo and nothing happen, try to change the extension from *.dm_82 to *.dm_84
