Here the first commercial Hard Drive disk storage from IBM (305 RAMAC) 

ABOUT 5MB ! 

It was awesome in 1956 :)

Did you notice how the meaning of "online" has changed since then? :D 

 

Now it means "on the Internet" or "on the Network (local)".  Then, it seemed to mean what we would now call "on the system" or some such. :D
