ok ill try put it in a few of the folders. i have changed it to joeycfg.cfg?

With each of my autoexec.cfg changes in the etmain folder, I have to delete the etconfig.cfg from the etmain\profiles\playername & jaymod\profiles\playername folders  then restart et for autoexec to recompile. Maybe something to look at in your case.
