Hope I'm posting this in the right spot :\

I tried to reinstall Steam since I just got my new hard drive. It gets to the update screen the stops and says "Steam.exe (main exception) ERROR: delete of steam.exe failed. WIN32 Error 5 "Access is Denied""

What is up with my Steam. Had it installed on this computer before with no issues.

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium service pack 1
3GB Ram
500 GB HDD 16MB cache @ 7200 RPMS
Intel Pentium CPU p6100 @ 2.00GHZ dual core

Any help is appreciated, would like to get back to my CoD4 and TF2...

I have tried doing right click -> run as but it doesn't give me the option to run as in the install.

Are you an administrator on the pc you are using (= is the user account you are using administrator)?

Hm... new hard drive, so there can't be any files from steam left over to make it glitch out like this. I'm not quite sure what to do, maybe there is an answer for you in the FAQ on steam's website.

Important:

Some users have reported that restarting your computer in Safe Mode allows Steam to update successfully.
