System restore doesn't remove EVERY Single file that you've edited or downloaded or whatever, there might be some fragment issues going on.
But quote from another site:
Pretty much what you have to do it remove all of your .iwd files and redownload them. It might be a specific mod or it might be all, not sure on that. But when you did a system restore, it might have created fragments of the .iwd files and didnt delete them
But quote from another site:
As for the location, not ssure about VIsta but for Windows 7 its: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Progr am Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles So look for a similar path in Vista... __________________
I managed to find it, you go to your programfiles/activision/cod4/main. No suprised there, but once there you need to click the button on the top of your file browser labelled "compatibility files". Then click on your mods folder and you will see the files. Delete the mod folders that you are having problems with and then reconnect to a server to download them again.

You have some bad map files maybe custom maps, you have to delete IWD 13
you may be able to copy and paste the iwd 13 file from your cd into the folder
