As you guys may already know , alot of players are experiencing problems with negative/positive acceleration.

Some are having troubles with disabling windows mouse accel.

Others have issues with negative acceleration.

Unfotunately , ET doesn't use DirectInput as mouseinput , so your mouse doesn't communicate directly with ET.

Rather than that , your mouse makes windows pointer move and then, ET reset the pointer position and calculate the movement depending of your Sensitivity , m_pitch , etc.

So your sensitivity is influenced by windows sensitivity since the higher it is , the further your pointer will move.

Now let me explain what is my understanding of negative accel.

Most players fix the negative accel issue by lowering their mouse DPI or increasing their screen resolution.

What is negative accel? Negative accel is caused when your DPI/resolution is so high that your mouse have time to get to the corner of your screen so it fakes the calculation since your mouse cant move further.

So if you move your mouse too fast , you get negative acceleration.

Ppl say you should start getting neg accel at like 800 dpi for 1024x728 .

Advantages of using RInput.

It overides windows sensitivity and fix all the negative acceleration problems since it forces ET to use directinput.

You will have a faster reaction time.

I also noticed I get no mouse lag when using it.

Those were probably caused by windows pointer no more responding.

PS: I have a few version of it on my PC if your guys cant get this one to work.

To use it just run rinput.exe and write ET.exe (Case sensitive).

Then just open ET.

Note for Linux users

/in_dgamouse 2 = no negative accel

It's not implemented on Windows, though. So rinput is an useful tool for those Win users with negative accel, and also you don't have to bother about setting your os sensi in the middle, and stuff. You will play et with full DPI.

Are you sure ? It won't return any error since it will wait for ET.exe until you close it.

If RInput console is still open after closing ET then it didn't work.

yes and it's closing itself automatically. If I keyed in a wrong one like ET123.exe or ET.EXE, it will fail.

it is looking for the binary of ET, this can be verified from running processes under Task Manager , which in my case is et.exe
