Rnades at least take some skill and there's counters (like flak jackets as an engy). Knives theres no counters and it just promotes toxic play style. What if we started a poll in the forums and let the people decide. Try it out for awhile.

Thats why I said it could be scaled based on the # of players that are in the server at the start of the map. Not perfect but e.g. there's 30 players total, axis spawn is 12sec. 40 players: 15 sec... In general there's also certain maps that are just fundamentally flawed with anything more than 12 players total (goldrush for example) where longer axis spawn times would go a long way to make it more balanced. Also, your point about allies winning 4 in a row is the exception not the norm. If I can get a list of the current map rotation or just stats on who wins maps over the course of a week, I guarantee you axis is winning >50% of the time. Probably closer to 70%.

Not sure how much control there is but there's a few changes that would go a long way to make the maps much more obj focus instead of just team death match. #1 Make axis spawns longer & potentially based on team size. Goldrush, italy, oasis, etc, etc etc all end the same way. First obj are ok but then the last obj is right next to axis spawn with allies having to travel 3x the distance. With a spawn timer of 10 sec, it's pointless and just turns into a death match. I don't understand why people are so allergic to allies winning but half of the maps futile for allies with the way the map + spawn timer works. Whats the point? #2 Remove knives, shit just promotes cancer behavior of camping in hallways That is all

Figured I would introduce myself since I've been playing on Jay1 for the past 3 months. Been a long time since I really played this game due to a dying scene & my lack of need for a desktop. I've played ET since the demo and started playing competitively around 2003 I want to say. First clan was the (CAN) clan, a fun clan that scrimmed and played some ladders, nothing to serious. Then I move to Raiders Coven where our team actually got quite good and finally landed at Gameface or >:[ . Gameface was a top US team at the time and won a few ladders. I stopped playing in 2006 after gameface because I was moving off to college and we had missed our chance to go to Quakecon that year (we were the practice team for 2006 Quakecon 3rd place team, Warped Sanity, and usually whooped on them. We didn't go due to lack of sponsorship and I was a broke highschooler). Anyways I probably played a few years sporadically in between 2006 and now, just messing around on F|A servers. Just came back recently and I'm starting to get some of my shot back but I will likely be washed up forever. Probably too much nostalgia for everyone. Other things about me, I'm from the US and I also play a bit of League of Legends. Happy to answer any questions, share configs (had some people request on server), or generally help out anyone if they want it. Go by Jason, Here2Play or whatever I'm feeling for the day that is topical.

Got a new good server that i really like. Its NA as you will see in the title and has no hackers. North American SLAC Public 208.167.242.127:27960 It has no hackers cause it forces you to use SLAC and they just came out with their first ban list with many more to come I'm sure. If you don't know what slac is: http://sl-anticheat.com/ . It's the only server to my knowledge that forces you to have slac on. It also has pb disabled obviously which means no lag and random kicks.

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Not gonna lie though, I've never seen a lot of the cvars before and they weren't in my etconfig.cfg. I'm guessing if you reinstalled you at least tried the default config for a little so I don't think it's cvar related.
