L3ftY. Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) The Remembrance Day Ceremony has played a major role in Remembrance for decades. Every year on November 11, millions gather to collectively stand in honour of all who have fallen in the service of their country. The Act of RemembranceThey shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morningWe will remember them.We will remember them. Remembrance Day is an important day in the calendar and is an opportunity to give meaning to past sacrifice and acknowledge the courage of those presently serving. Each year, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we gather in memorial parks, community halls, workplaces, schools and homes to observe a moment of silence and mark the sacrifice of so many. We would not have the freedoms and liberties we have today without the sacrifices of those who have served our countries. My grandfather briefly served in the Finnish army against the Russians.
