GraveDigger
I have a Word doc that is password protected. I need to alter the document but cant remember the password. Is there any way to get around this?
Krauersaut
Did you set a modify-password or an open-password? Since Microsoft stores modify-passwords in plain text (at least in version 2003).
NoGooD
Bah.....I think Grave is upset because it's the doc that contains all his PornPass passwords. I know..that wasn't helpful. Hopefully this isn't an important doc. You may want to do a bit of googling. If I remember right there's a way to get certain Windows passwords by using a linux install disk and a third party program. TBH it's been awhile since I've done it, and the names elude me. Also now that I'm thinking about it, I believe it was to retrieve a forgotten windows login pass.
Guest R..pace!
That's a toughie... Maybe you can try opening it in safe-mode. Otherwise, haxing and password generators seem to be the only way out...
