I have decided to give it another shot, with Ubuntu 16.04 alongside it.

 

By using Ubuntu I no longer wil be jeopardizing my SteamOS's integrity by attempting to DL pkgs without the knowledge to do so!  :unsure:

 

 

Now I need a new Steam desktop auth. setup. Anyone have any recommendations for a Steam mobile auth. app alternative for Ubuntu??  :D
