Desert hike in anza borrego state park

@audrey: yeah, pics were too big, had to resize them.

@Raskin: We took our warmer equipment with us (long underwear, thermal sleeping gear etc) but to be honest it was surprisingly warm at night.

- day temps were around 95 F

- night temperatures were around 65 - 70 F

We hiked into a canyon called the 'Hell Hole'. The goal is to reach a little oasis with a little waterfall. The existing water source allows all kinds of flowers and palm trees to grow. If i could travel back in time and give myself a tip... Wear long hiking pants next time. Everything in the desert has the most evil needles, the sharpest edges or is poisonous. I had an encounter with one of the cacti. The needles are thin and made out of a material like glass, they break easily. At the end they have tiny hooks so you have trouble pulling them out.
