Platonic Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Disclaimer: I do not support banning games entirely from our lives. I do not wish this clan to loose its reason for existence The man is a bit extreme in his thoughts and I think he fails to see the benefit and even educational value of some games, but I do think he has a huge point. He has a point about the amount of hours we game. He has a point about the female education system and he has more than a point about porn. Porn obliterates mens self esteem. It has a much larger impact on us than we like to admit and I do think this problem should be recognized. Some games are more of a problem than others. Not necessary to watch the entire video, you get his point pretty quickly. I am proud to say that I've changed a lot the last past years, so I don't have to see myself between those "failed boys/men". I've become a lot less lazy. I've become better at school and I gained more energy (because I started eating healthier and started doing sports). I almost completely stopped watching tv shows and study things that take my intrest instead. I can think of a few reasons for it. At first, I moved away at home so I started appreciating doing something productive during the evening. I became partially financially independent so I learned how success/money defines your freedom. I had great friends that pulled me up instead of down. At last, there was a great bunch of real virtual people behind me who were there when I needed them most (for example last year when I broke up with my gf). Unlike some other clans, we have huge respect for real life and we take a lot of intrest in member's lives. Thanks for that guys. Rock on. /emotional and moralising Plat end 6 Quote

OnionKnight Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I agree with Raskin about the whole staying home forever. Being idle is a major no-no. I started university, didn't work for the first 2 years and then I started to do work. Those first 2 years onion was extremely lazy and I wasn't motivated to do much. Being out of the work force for 2 years was like being kicked in the balls. My buddy kicked my ass getting tired of me mooching rides and told me to get a fricken job and buy a vehicle already. Then Onion pulled up his pants and put the underwear the right way up. The whole staying home and doing nothing just destroys any initiative. No sense of urgency or the need to gain anything. But when you have something you really want, you will definitely work for it. 2 Quote
