Pegasus™ Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 just want to tell you guys "GOOD LUCK" for the first scrim against |STFU| Quote
Malokyte Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Not a bad game for our first match. We lost 9 - 16, but I suspect it was due to experience as while they won more overall, when our strategies played out as planned we'd steamroll them. Also, for the sake of review, I would like all participants to post their demo of the match. I would like to see what positions and strats were most effective, as well as getting a general idea of the opponents strategies. Quote
deathfromabo Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 how do we post the demos on the forums? or do we send you the demos over xifre? Quote
Malokyte Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 how do we post the demos on the forums? or do we send you the demos over xifre? You could always upload them to a site like rapidshare or mediafire then post a link. I personally use box.net for my uploads, free and easy to use. I rarely use xfire, so you'd have to find me in a game or on vent and tell me you want to send it. So it'd be easier for you to just link it. Quote
Malokyte Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I've recieved no demos... Should a hacking claim had been filed against us, we would have been penalized by now. Please, try to get your demos in soon. I'd like to try to revise our gameplan for backlot before next practice. Also, let's try to get a challenge in before we get challenged. http://www.teamwarfare.com/viewTeam.asp?team=Creative+Acceleration+Gamming looks like a good target, if somewhat close to us in rankings. Tomato Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I think we need to have some scrim practice dedicated to some concrete strats. We really need to have some strats put together to have more organized, and more familiar, tactics. This would all be complete with set positions, paths, and nades for each specific player. Strats are extremely important for the actual scrims against other teams. Especially so on offense, which is where I think we fall a bit short at the moment. Lots of the tactics I see us using just tend to be stuff like, "Well, 3 of you go to A and then other 2 go to B" and while these sorts of things seem to work well in scrim practice the won't really help us in actual scrims. I don't think every one of our scrim practices just needs to be a frag fest, we really should get some solid strat time in. Quote
fred Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 ok will do. u want specific strats i will make them lol. think of them urself too. Quote
AntiThought Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 I will not make Friday's scrim pratice and probably not Saturday's either I will be out of town starting Wednesday until Saturday or Sunday. Hmmm Wednesday what an odd looking word. Quote
Malokyte Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 If we want to get more coordinated, we will have take 5 to 10 minutes (yes it sounds unreasonable) to go over prenades for each map we play. Then, developing a group plan for offense or defense requires an intense, concentrated look at each individual's role and positioning. Which could take a while to find something that actually works. Developing strategies is almost never fun, because it get's frustrating working the kinks and weaknesses out of it, then mastering it. However, should such dedication be shown, I'll be more than happy to assist outside of scrim practice should you request it. I'll also be more willing to foot the server's bill (and it's not cheap <.<) Quote
Tomato Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 I think a good way to do it, until there is more universal support for the whole idea, is wait until we have a scrim, then find out who will be going to it. We'll just get those 5 in the server to completely go over the map's strats + prenades. Although I agree we should cover prenades in regular scrim practice too, because without them the pacing of an actual scrim can be lost. Quote
