Fans who were lucky enough to attend San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year were treated to a teaser trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Since then Bryan Singer has been hard at work in post-production on the highly anticipated sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it looks like it won't be long until we get a glimpse at the fruits of his labour.

The director has made a habit out of doling out updates for his films via Instagram, and his latest post is a photo of himself and editor/composer, John Ottman in the editing room - along with James McAvoy's still not hairless Professor X on screen in the background - with an added caption that reads, "back in the cutting room w #johnottman teaser coming soon".

It has been confirmed that McAvoy will be bald at some point in the film, and we may yet get a shot of that much anticipated moment when the trailer is eventually released. As for exactly when that will be, smart money says that it will be attached to the upcoming 20th Century Fox film Victor Frankenstein, which stars McAvoy in the lead role. Whatever the case, you can count on Singer continuing to be a one-man marketing machine as his latest film gets closer to its release.

Co-starring Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Sophie Turner, X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in UK cinemas on May 19 2016 before making its way to US theatres on May 27 2016.
