Night Hunter Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Dark lord: A monument to Darth Vader from Star Wars, which was rebuilt from a statue of Lenin One's renowned as one of the architects of an oppressive regime backed with military might - and so is the other one. Lenin was reimagined as Star Wars' Darth Vader thanks to the work of an artist in Odessa, the fourth largest city in Ukraine. Cheeky Aleksander Milov - a Ukrainian artist, designer and animator - even popped a wifi router under the Sith lord's helmet in order to offer free net browsing to those who come to pay their respects to the Dark Side. The statue's roots have an important part to play in the history of the Ukraine, as one of the former regions of the Soviet Union. Seeing double: Star Wars fans dressed as Vader and his Stormtroopers pay their respects Vladimir Lenin was a Marxist who helped establish Russia as a state ruled by Communism before he died in 1924. He played a key role in the 1917 Russian Revolution which saw Tsar Nicholas and his family assassinated and established a new Bolshevik-led administration. To this day, he divides opinion in the former Soviet regions. In Odessa, the Lenin statue was scheduled to be dismantled under the 'de-communisation process', but it was reinstated after concerned locals raised the issue. Artist's work: Oleksandr Milov, a sculptor from Odessa, attends the inauguration ceremony of a Darth Vader monument Milov strengthened the gypsum statue before dressing it in the iconic Vader helmet and cape, which are made of titanium alloy, according to Dumskaya .
