Pretty straightforward, which gun(s) do you prefer?

 

I'm partial to the AN-94 and M16 as I'm a nub and burst rifles are the only way I can go positive at least upon occasion, heh.

 

Looking to see if anything is worth obtaining in the other classes as I'm not too fond of them at the moment with the starter guns.

Assault: XM8 P

Engineer: UMP with Gustav OR the XM8 C

Medic: g3 (screw lmgs)

Recon: GOL magnum.

 

and the pistol I use is the mp-443, yes it is the weakest of them but i manage to get lots of kills with it

Assualt: XM8P, M16, or AUG

Engineer: Gustav, don't even need a main weapon :P

Medic: MG3, much better than what some people will tell you

Recon: GOL for sniping, NS2000 with slugs is my more usual choice though

 

Best pistol is the M1911, although I will sometimes use the Tracer now that they made it better

Assault: N2000 shotgun. C4 + ammo regen. = bombsite death warrant

 

Engineer: Repair Tool and CCCAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

 

Medic: Defibs or gtfo.

 

Recon: GOL Sniper Magnum. Accuracy > Power.

Assault : AN-96 or M-416

Engineer : UMP or Krink

medic : M60

Recon : GOL or m24

 

A lot of what you use is just personal preference.

 

In looking at the actual game damage values, all weapons in a certain "class" (as in all assault rifles, etc), do similar damage over time.

 

Example (assault guns) :

 

Weapon...........Max DMG...........RPM..............Max possible(RPM * damage per shot, excluding reload time)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AEK ....................14.3...................800..............11440

XM8.....................16.7...................750..............12525

F2000.................12.5...................850..............10625

Aug......................16.7...................700..............11690

AN-94.....................20...................600..............12000

M416...................16.7...................700..............11690

M16.....................14.3...................800..............11440

 

There are other factors for these of course, the f2000 has the lowest DOT and lowest damage per shot, BUT it also has the lowest spread per shot of any Assault weapon at 1.25 (compared to almost all the rest at 1.5) and the lowest spread while moving (2.0 compared to 2.5 for the rest). That does not seem like much difference, but its the difference between a headshot and not at 60 yards. It also does that same damage (12.5) at all ranges, where most other guns drop off quite a bit; The AUG for example, 16.7 up close, but 12.5 at 60 yards.

 

You'll get lots of opinion on what the "best" gun is based purely on damage alone and to a degree that is valid, but only if you can make the gun hit the target :)

 

Experiment with the weapons, you may be surprised what works for your style.

I've now become partial to the engineer class just because I like hitting people/vehicles with tracers and then lighting them up with a Gustav. Ah the satisfaction of cross map tracer hits.

I absolutely hate the new tracer buff. It makes helis go down so fast now. It's not even worth it to fly them anymore.

If you trace someone... The bullet of a sniper doesn't follow the target.... right?

Tracer only works with RPGs, Carls and such.

The MG36 is a Beast period!

 

I absolutely hate the new tracer buff. It makes helis go down so fast now. It's not even worth it to fly them anymore.

 

Tomato they also added a counter measure. If you use the smoke perk it is an instant counter measure and removes any tracer dart... fyi
