Platonic Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Looking for a good alround mic for recording music. I would be recording guitar with it, as well as voices and random sounds (drums on surfaces, all kinds of environment sounds,...). I don't have a very large budget as I need to keep some money for buying analog sound shaping modules (and FA), but anything between 50 and 250 euros qualifies. A friend of mine has this one and is pretty happy with it: http://www.amazon.fr/Zoom-Enregistreur-portable-avec-Carte/dp/B005CQ2ZY6/ref=sr_1_83?ie=UTF8&qid=1435260835&sr=8-83&keywords=dictaphone Any other ideas? By the way, I might be posting some own music soon, I'm almost happy enough with it to do that. Quote
JohnTV Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Shure SM57 is an excellent dynamic mic, a go-to for many applications and a studio standard. A little cheaper for Shure products is the SM58, also a great mic. If you're wanting/needing a condenser mic, consider a Rode NT3 or NTK. And despite the price, strongly consider a Royer R121, if you aren't afraid of ribbon mics. 1 Quote
Platonic Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 That's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks! Will look into it. 1 Quote
