Long loading times

Well I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I found the reason why I have such long loading times in BC2. The problem is with ATI and their graphic cards running DX10 on Windows 7. ATI has listed the issue but have not released a patch yet.

 

Temporary solution: Force DX9 Grpahics

 

To force DX9 graphics go to My Documents->BFBC2-> Settings.ini

Change DxVersion=Auto to DxVersion=9

i dont get it ? loading time of a level ? cos thats related to your hard drive on ssd you are awake as first :) . how coold your graffic card slow down the loading of a level ?

No, it really must be the graphics card. Loading a level takes about two minutes for me. Let's wait for a patch then...

I'm usually the first one to load and I have an Nvidia card, so I guess that makes sense.

i have an Nvidia card and i dont have any problems. Doesn't Loki have ATI cards? :hmm I remember him complaining about long load times.

I have an ATI card and it usually takes a minute or two to load the maps :(

 

Thanks for posting this though cause I too was under the impression the loading time would be from my hd.

Ok the temporay solution until ATI fixes it is to force DX9 graphics, however, there are a few graphic glitches like, mounted machine guns have no hole to look out so you are basically shooting blindfolded lol.

that still happens to me with DX10...
