I used to love playing Metal Gear Solid so much when I was younger. I grew up playing video games and watching others play video games. Video games give me a chance to get away from the real world, and my problems. It makes the world seem so distant and makes my problems seem so far away for a minor time. I've always enjoyed video games.

A question to further this discussion would be - what game was your favorite? MGS for playstation 1, MGS2, MGS3, Metal Gear Rising, or do you like the other newer Metal Gear Games? I won't lie, after MGS3 I kinda stopped paying attention to all the new releases for all the different consoles, they were hard to keep up with lol. Do you have any favorite characters, bosses, least favorite bosses?

I thought psycho mantis was always pretty neat to fight since he pretty much knew what you were going to do every single time. I think my favorite character was either Grey Fox the ninja from the first MGS, or of course Solid Snake, although Raiden's story does seem to be pretty interesting as well. I think my least favorite boss was probably Vulcan Raven, he was always a pain in the ass to beat, I really hated the tank part on the first MGS.

I really miss games like this one, I wish they'd make a game really similar to the setup of MGS. Resident Evil was another favorite game of mine to watch others play more often than play myself. I hate dying and losing on video games, so I tried to avoid playing Resident Evil when I was younger lol.

MGS2 was really fun. Gives me nostalgia to the max when I see pictures of gameplay or have memories of that game. So much fun. :)

I really liked MGS3, the concept of the camoflauge and healing yourself (removing bullets, treating burns, setting broken bones, etc.) and the whole needing food and stamina thing makes the game so much more challenging in the third one I thought.

MGS1. Best. Game. Ever.

MGS2 was cool as well but in the following versions they removed the Soliton radar which is the greatest feature of MGS and even if it makes the game more realistic, the mgs without that somehow aren't as arcadish as MGS1/2 used to be and imo not as fascinating as MGS1/2 used to be. MGS4 was still cool, but I haven't finished MGS3 yet due to a lack of enthusiasm I guess. + in the latest versions you could end the game by killing everyone whereas in MGS1 for example there was parts where you couldn't kill anyone and globally, unless you found the socom suppressor, the whole game was mostly infiltration. MG2 was still cool even if M9 ruined the infiltration part a bit and MGS3 and 4 are mostly action games, infiltration part got minor so definitely MGS1 all the way :P
