I think I actually own the only Chevrolet product that hasn't been recalled.

Chevy's recall is so big, that it involves part of Dodge and Toyota, just to make sure.

Did you ever notice how Dodge quit using keys for their cars, about 2 years before the Great Recall.

Here is how stupid most people are today.

1.  They buy a car that has keyless entry.

2.  Then they lock the car with the keys inside.

3.  Guess where the keyless entry fob is located?

4.  So the car makers have to come up with a fix for this idiocy.

5.  The keyless entry keypad located on the driver's door.

6.  The only problem is that 99% of the people driving those cars....never program the keypad.

7.  The finality to all this....AAA makes a fortune on opening up these cars.

Here is one man's fix for locking his keys in the car. (True story)  He puts an extra key in the trunk. Then he carries the key-fob in his pocket to open the trunk and get

the extra key.

Here was GM's fix to this problem in 1963-1965.  They made it impossible to lock the doors without a key.  So you had to get out of the car, with your keys, close the doors,

put key in driver's door lock, turn key, and all the doors would lock.  That is how they solved it back then.  But, people griped about that so much they did away with it.

Unbelievable.

There is a car made today that warns you when you walk away from the car without your keys.

Dodge has the "Smart Key" feature.  No key at all.  But you have to have this fob on you to make it open the doors, and start the car.  It senses the fob about 30 feet away.

and when you press the open key on the fob, all the doors open up.  You can actually start the car with the fob, but you can't drive it away until you put your thumb onto the

reader.  At that point the transmission unlocks and the steering unlocks.

the door not locking unless you lock it externally is quite genius for that day and age...but humans are lazy creatures.
