MPDATA file is corrupted and is causing my problems

Ol Smoke

Question

As you no doubt have been reading for the last few weeks, I have been having trouble in COD4 with the weapons and some other things not working correctly.

Yesterday I erased and re-installed COD4.  I patched it up to 1.7 and made a new profile.

I went into the game yesterday with that new profile and everything worked like it should.  I started off this morning with the same thing.  Then I switched to my old

profile.

As soon as I got back into the game I could tell something wasnt right.  I wasnt running as fast as I was in the other profile.  Then I started shooting guys and I

could see that the bullets (?) werent killing anything.  Then I started shooting at the cans and bottles and they didnt move or break.  So I went back to the new

profile and tried the same thing.  I could shoot the watermelons and they would blow up.  Shoot the cans and they would move. So I have come up with this

deduction,   my mpdata file is corrupted.  I even tried to use the standard arms profiles that comes with the game, but they didnt do any better.  I reset the

mpconfig.cfg file but it didnt help.

So I am going to have to rebuild the mpdata file again.  From scratch.

I hate running around being lit up as red bulb on a Christmas tree.  But I will get my level 55 stuff back.

So have pity on ol' smoke and dont shoot him too much.
