Is there any place where I can download demos of pro shooters, trickjumpers or just plain random.

I am kinda studying my mistakes and I want to see how the cool guys do it.

Gamestv.org make an account, request a demo, it'll load up onto an ettv server, join the server and enjoy. For tj just watch tj videos or join a server and spec. I'd be more than happy to show you a few things, I run a friends tj server. Hit me up on xf @ standal0ne.

Perfect,. I got this weekend off. You have vent or ts? So much easier to explain wtf's going on with tj.

Hey, sorry for not hitting you up. I wanted to practice by myself first, i really didn't want to bother you wasting your time watching me fail.

I have some questions regarding the trickjumping:

* You have no idea how much time i have put jumping in Tjmod and Etjump, but I just realized you could change the physics of the game without using server side commands (flat ground jumping :P ). I've noticed that jumps are extremely easier while using quake3 physics, i gain more speed more quickly. What bothers me is that, is this the easy/lazy way? I know some maps need these type of physics (nikerun1), but is it okay to use this mode in maps that where designed for VET physics? (for example, piyo jumps), or i am just being victim of placebo?

* There's this new mod called Etrun (http://timeruns.net). Have you heard of this before? what are your thoughs about the AP physics?

if you use different physics jumps could be easier or harder, that's all imho.

so a jump that was meant to be 'hard' could be a different level, but nobody prevents you from doing it... it's like enabling b_fixedphysics on etpro and all gammajumps become hard as hell, while with pmove_fixed it's the intended skill level

not even remotely good at tj but this is my opinion

Physics , physics everywhere

Watching you fail is never a waste of my time :P

*No Placebo.  VQ3 and VET operate on the same basic physics with the main differences being VQ3 is faster and has lower gravity.

*Is this the easy/lazy way you ask?  No, unless you're brining ego into it.  As long as you're enjoying yourself it doesn't matter which combination of map and mod you decide to load up since you'll be  getting better at both regardless.

*Have I heard of Etrun?  OH MY GOD YES!    It is an absolute blast to play.  The freedom of movement is something else.  It is no new mod though.  It was previously known as APTjmod and was adopted from Quake 3 CPMA (challenge promode arena). In Q3 it was a frag, timed runs, and freestyle mod.  A fragmod dubbed "APFrag" was produced for ET but I never got a chance to play it.

So quit being shy and lets do this!  Passing along the knowledge and enjoyment I've gained through the years is never a waste of my time.  If you've got the time to learn, I've got the time to help out.

Here's some motivational help :)
