I'm preparing to make the investment in a decent road bike. I'm currently torn between three models; the Trek 1.5, the Specialized Allez Sport, and the Kestrel Talon Road. I've got a friend in NY who swears by the 2 Allez Sport's he's owned, however I'd like a bit more input before I make such a substantial purchase. The Bikes currently cost $1250 for the Trek, $960 for the Allez Sport, and $1499 for the Kestrel Road.
