During its Gamescom press conference earlier today, EA showed off 12 minutes of single-player campaign footage for Battlefield Hardline, and also revealed two new multiplayer modes.

The footage above shows main protagonist Nick Mendoza in a spot of bother after being double crossed by a contact. After a rather violent escape the action switches to a less lethal variant with Nick sneaking his way through an area, showing off silent takedowns and the taser.

Also, during the press conference, EA announced two new multiplayer modes for Hardline. Hotwire sees cops and criminals riding around in fast cars shooting at each other as they both attempt to capture and incapacitate various vehicles. While Rescue is a five-on-five eSports-focused mode that sees five cops trying to rescue a hostage from five criminals.  You can take a look at Rescue mode in action below.

Battlefield Hardline was originally set to launch in October for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, but was recently delayed to early 2015.
