I told some of you I'd post some of my new gear.

I've picked up some new gear since I last posted. Most noticeably, I upgraded from a particle board desktop mousing surface to a SteelSeries Qck pad. For $10 it's a great pickup if you are using you aren't using a gaming-grade surface already. I was able to maintain movement and tracking speed while lowering my ET sens from 5.15 to 4.25. It also helps your response time and staying on head level. I played better Warsow instagib deathmatch too, which I'm pretty sure is the best test of pure multiplayer aiming ability on the internet. Sitting atop the pad is the uber-popular Razer Deathadder. I've had a lot of gaming mice (MX518, G5, original Sidewinder, original Diamondback, Intellimouse 3.0) and this is probably my favorite since it is a great all-around mouse. I work at home so I'm on my home computer for around 10 hours a day. Sometimes as much as 16 hours. You can't maintain a claw grip for that long, and while this mouse accommodates a claw grip (most of you probably don't have one), it will change your grip slightly to a more ergonomic claw, but you can easily relax to a natural grip when you're browsing or whatever. It has a profile switch button on the bottom, the mouse stores 5 profiles which each have settings for DPI, X/Y sens, and bindings/macros. The scroll wheel is illuminated in blue, and the Razer logo slowly pulsates just like the logo on the Tarantula keyboard. You can see that the reflective coating is chipping off, apparently this is a common problem in these keyboards. I can't be too upset since I paid $30 for a brand new keyboard that was $90 everywhere else, and other than that it's a great keyboard.

Sorry for the low quality photos but you can clearly see I'm a super pro gamer from all the stickers I've put on various products :)

Oh, forgot to take a picture of my new headset. I got a Plantronics GameCom 367 headset. For only $30 it's a really nice headset, although it's gigantic, the sound quality is amazing. The microphone flips up into the headset too. All the padding is cloth which is so much cooler than fake leather. It was the first headset I've had (I had the big Logitech one that goes behind your head, the smaller one that has the leather pads that go on your ears instead of around, and the cheaper eDimensional headset), and this is the first piece of equipment I've had that made me realize that my normal sound card wasn't cutting it. I got the Creative X-Fi USB card off my laptop and the difference was amazing.

jesus christ, i need a headset.

that looks amazing lol

It's big. Like Comanche helicopter pilot big, maybe even bigger. I do have to say it's comfortable as shit though and the sound is amazing. After I burned them in for about 50 hours I can turn them up to hurting my ears level without popping or distortion. The bass is clean and not overpowering like in a lot of headsets. It will be weak if you don't have a good sound card. The highs could be a little bit clearer but that's something you can't find for at least another $50. They seem to be really durable and they're cool looking so long as they're not on your head. The mic doesn't get in your way when you're eating, drinking, or doing bong rips.
