HecKler Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I know there are some useful console commands out there that can be used in game by anyone regardless of admin level. Some of these are obvious but, it still amazes me the majority of people that dont know even the simple ones. Anyway, I know a couple that may be less well known but I thought I could share them and also ask if anyone knows of any others that might be useful. /kill obvious but still astounds the amount of players I see whip out a nade and blow themselves up! /reconnect great for connectivity/config issues also means you dont have to leave the game entirely /quit again obvious and if you bind it to a key it's great for instantly quitting when you shouldn't be playing at work/home/school, etc. /ignore playername is great when you have a trash talker/troll that wont shut up and doesnt get muted. Personally, I love this one! I am sure there are others and I probably know a couple more and will post them when I remember but, I am feeling the need to go frag on NQ. Later. 2 Quote

Leader RedBaird Posted April 3, 2014 Leader Posted April 3, 2014 then you've all the cvars commands ^^ /cl /cg /r /b /com /net /m etc .. When in ET, you can type /cl_ in console and then press the tab-key for a list of all cvars that start with those chars, and their current values. This is nice for when you can't quite remember the exact spelling. Experimenting before saving config files is not recommended. That is what saved me once when I decided to delete an 'uneeded' section of a graphics script and found myself playing Quake2 upside-down! /b should just be for etpro, I hear. If someone asks how to stop their avatar's head from be-boping around the map, you can say "enter /cl_b in console and hit tab-key. That should show you all the bob, pitch, yaw, etc and their current values." Note that these values can be different in each mod and if you have merely started ET and have not joined a server yet or loaded a mod manually. 4 Quote
